Family Office Plan Design Workshops and Review

Programme Objective

The mornings will consist of engaging and interwoven lectures on relevant topics; the afternoons are organized around 'jam sessions' designed to provoke your creative, sometimes uncomfortable, thinking about how to optimize a family office while expressing the values central to family glue and community engagement.

By attending this program, you will explore key themes in:

Foundations of Family Enterprise Strategy

What what does success look like?
How should we structure ownership, governance, and the family office to align with our goals?
What tradeoffs are we willing to make?

What Success Can Look Like

What will our family office look like in 20–30 years, and how will it evolve?
How should we design structure, compensation, and performance management?
How do we ensure accountability while enabling honest, constructive dialogue?

Business Impact—Results that Matter

Which assets and cash flows should remain centralized, and which should be distributed?
Is the family office designed as a profit center, a service center, or a hybrid of both?
Which functions are core to the family office’s mission and should remain in-house?
What activities are better served through outsourcing or external partnerships?

Durable Governance and Leadership

Do we want our office to be founder-dependent or founder designed?
How do we establish, communicate and enforce guardrails to prevent unintended services proliferation within the family office?
How do we build resilient and flexible governance and family engagement for the long term?

Shaping the Multi-Generational Engagement

In family office design, how do we balance serving the collective whole while also respecting individual autonomy?
How can we institutionalize the founder’s entrepreneurial spirit and measured risk-taking in subsequent generations of the family and the family office?
How important are shared values and a shared sense of history and of our collective future? If those are insufficient, how do we recognize that and what do we do?
