About Programme

Stanford LEAD is the flagship online business program from Stanford GSB designed for mid- to senior-level professionals seeking to expand their leadership capabilities, strengthen strategic thinking, and increase their impact in a rapidly changing business environment. For many participants, LEAD becomes a meaningful career inflection point — helping them move beyond functional expertise into broader, more confident leadership — and can help you do the same.

Programme Content

Stanford LEAD’s flexible 8-course curriculum helps professionals build the leadership, strategic, and innovation mindset to thrive in rapidly evolving business environments shaped by AI, technological disruption, and constant change.

Through applied learning across leadership, strategy, innovation, finance, and critical thinking, participants strengthen the ability to navigate complexity, make better decisions, and drive organizational impact.

The LEAD Learning Model

LEAD delivers a highly interactive online learning experience designed to help leaders stay ahead where change is constant and adaptability is critical. Participants build practical leadership and business capabilities while remaining closely engaged with faculty, peers, and real-world application throughout the program.

The LEAD Learning Model includes:

Independent Learning: Flexible coursework designed to fit alongside demanding professional schedules
Live Online Sessions: Real-time faculty engagement and interactive discussions that deepen learning and connection
Collaborative Group Work: Team-based learning experiences that encourage diverse perspectives and peer exchange
Applied Assignments & Projects: Practical exercises and real-world application that reinforce immediate on-the-job impact
Personalized Feedback & Coaching: Dedicated feedback and coaching that encourage reflection, deepen learning, and support real-world application.
Social Virtual Learning: Intentionally designed engagement opportunities with a global peer community of accomplished professionals across industries, functions, and geographies

Stanford LEAD is a custom combination of 8 courses that help you master the foundations, enhance your leadership, and define your specific path.

Here is what your LEAD program journey will look like:

Start with (2) Foundation courses
Add (1) Leadership course
Choose (5) Elective courses
Earn a Stanford GSB Professional Certificate upon completion

LEAD’s 8-course curriculum is comprised of:

Foundations (2 Courses) Build the analytical and financial foundations needed to evaluate opportunities, navigate uncertainty, and make effective business decisions in increasingly complex and technology-driven environments.
Leadership Core (Select 1 of 2 Courses) Develop the leadership capabilities needed to communicate clearly, foster alignment, lead through ambiguity, and guide teams through continuous change and transformation.
Electives (Select 5 of 16 Courses*) Personalize your learning experience through electives spanning leadership, innovation, communication, strategy, organizational design, and decision-making — allowing you to tailor the curriculum to your goals and real-world business challenges.

Earn Your Stanford GSB Professional Certificate

This certificate signals more than completion of a program; it reflects a commitment to rigorous, faculty-led learning and a demonstrated ability to engage with graduate-level business thinking.

Upon program completion, you will receive a Stanford GSB Professional Certificate in (2) formats:

A certified electronic version that may be posted on your social networks
A printed version for display

At the completion of LEAD, participants earn Continuing Education Units (CEUs). These CEUs reflect the rigor and credibility of the program while formally recognizing the time, effort, and intellectual investment required to complete a Stanford GSB learning experience.

CEUs may be used to support professional recertification requirements or qualify for employer-sponsored professional development and tuition reimbursement programs.

For more than 10 years, LEAD has become more than a leadership program: it’s a global community whose collective knowledge, experience, and connections continue to amplify the learning experience and expand its reach.
