About Programme

This short course introduces the principles of sustainability and circular economy within the realm of environmental geotechnology, addressing key geoenvironmental challenges such as industrial by-product management/utilization/valorization, contaminated land remediation, energy geotechnics, waste to wealth, landfill rehabilitation. Through an interdisciplinary lens, it explores how geotechnical engineering can drive resource recovery and sustainable infrastructure development, fostering dialogue between academia, industry, and policymakers toward practical, implementable solutions.

Programme Content

The two-day course spans six sessions covering circular economy concepts, valorization of industrial by-products, contaminated land remediation, energy geotechnics, and innovation done by the IIT Bombay researchers. It highlights industrial applications, policy landscape, and collaboration among academia, industry, and government toward sustainable, circular-economy-driven solutions in environmental geotechnology.
