Power Electronics In Practice: From Magnetics To Gate Drivers

Indian Institute of Technology Bombay

Electrical Engineering

About Programme

Power electronics lie at the core of modern energy systems, enabling efficient and reliable power conversion across applications such as electric vehicles, renewable energy, and data centers. With the rapid evolution of wide bandgap technologies like SiC and GaN, there is an increasing need to develop a strong understanding of practical design and implementation challenges. This course is designed to bridge the gap between fundamental concepts and real-world applications. It provides a comprehensive overview of key areas including system-level applications, high-frequency magnetics design, converter modelling and control, and advanced gate driving techniques. With a strong emphasis on practical insights, design trade-offs, and real-world considerations, the course equips participants with the knowledge required to understand efficient, reliable, and high-performance power electronic systems.
