This course is designed to provide beginners with a foundational understanding of satellite images using Python. Participants will learn how to explore commonly used geospatial data formats, and apply Python tools and libraries to visualize, process, and analyze satellite imagery. No prior experience in satellite image analysis or programming is required, making the course suitable for students and professionals entering the field of geospatial science.

Programme Content

The key topics covered shall include using geospatial libraries to read, visualize and manage satellite images. The hands-on sessions shall cover basics of python interface, installation of libraries, visualizing image, analyzing colors, perform basic satellite processing techniques like image enhancement. As this course shall be taught along with hands on sessions, participants are encouraged to either bring their laptops or use the existing computational facility at the venue.
