Intercultural Fluency: An Integral Leadership Competency

This course is designed for management students and junior faculty in the field of management as well as for practicing managers.

The purpose of this weeklong intensive practicum is to demonstrate the use of intercultural concepts as an integral leadership competency. The course surveys the various concepts of cultural differences and demonstrates application for leadership in organizations. The goal of the program is to enable participants to practice inclusive leadership and navigate people differences in leadership roles. The course is designed to be interactive and focuses on integrating concepts from cross-cultural theories, Organizational Behavior and Organizational Theory constructs, leadership theories and practitioner models. During the course, participants will examine the sensitizing concepts and integrate with their own life experiences. The overarching goal is to provide a better understanding of how research literature might be actualized into practical and personalized models of leadership. The focus will be on parsing meta concepts into applicable and actionable insights.
