General Management and Strategy

About Programme

With packed workdays full of meetings, we want to give today’s leaders the space to really think about what they want for the future, both for their business and their own careers. The IE Leadership & Foresight Hub offers the tools and atmosphere to build sustainable competitive advantages while preparing for what's next.

Each year, Fellows return to engage with fresh challenges and envision what lies ahead.

This is the purpose behind the IE Leadership & Foresight Hub: a space for analysis and knowledge-sharing specifically geared toward top-level executives. It is a place where international experts, changemakers, and C-suite leadership from different sectors can come together and step outside their comfort zone, discuss the challenges of the future, and explore new opportunities and solutions.

If we set our sights on 2040, what would we change now? Thinking back on the past 15 years, what would we have done differently to hone our skills and prepare ourselves for our current reality?

This exclusive think tank involves the entire IE University ecosystem: its five schools and multiple research centers. The discussions are based on three key areas:

1. Technology

2. Sustainability and Ethics

3. Geopolitics and Global Order

Now is the time to participate in enriching, multidisciplinary discussions that will give you unique insights and perspective for the future. The IE Leadership & Foresight Hub is a locus of exploration and networking. It is a place to spark ideas for a better future, where experienced executives can work together with younger students - the leaders of tomorrow.

Programme Content

The IE Leadership & Foresight Hub starts on February 11th, and concludes on November 11th, 2026. Given the demanding schedules of senior executives, the program is condensed into one monthly session. These sessions typically take place on the first Wednesday of each month, from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM, preceded by a cocktail-style lunch starting at 2:30 PM. Each session will address a specific current business topic. There will be presentations from expert specialists, and the work will be divided into three main blocks: New Paradigms, Open Debate, and Anchoring for 2026.

ACADEMIC CONTENT

The IE Leadership & Foresight Hub is not designed in the same way as a regular program. Rather than sticking to specific content, sessions will encourage the exchange of ideas based on a series of recommended materials that participants will be asked to read beforehand. Participants will then explore the different topics in depth alongside other executives and experts. This way of working enables participants to:

Expand their global vision of the business landscape through the contributions of other leaders.
Implement the ideas and strategies, brought to the table by other participants from different generations, within their own organization.
Get to know other change-makers in their own sector and in other industries.
Discover new business opportunities and expand their network of contacts.

To promote debate and to make the sharing of ideas truly effective, the program uses a variety of methodologies:

COLLABORATIVE DYNAMICS

The different leaders and experts participating in the program will be split into groups to collaborate on a wide range of activities. These group dynamics are designed to encourage cooperation and diversity of perspectives, so teams will be comprised of participants from all backgrounds, sectors, and ages.

DYNAMICS OF INTERGENERATIONAL CO-CREATION

The aim of the program is to identify opportunities and design strategies that, while forward-looking, can be implemented in the day-to-day operations of today's companies. To foster innovation, vision, and creativity, a series of "jam sessions" are organized to encourage learning and co-creation among participants. In order to promote intergenerational dialogue, a select group of outstanding IE students are invited to join contributing fresh perspectives and innovative thinking to the discussion.

BOOTCAMP

Participants will deepen their experience through a dedicated bootcamp held on March 17–18 at IE University's Segovia campus, set in the remarkable surroundings of the Monastery of Santa Cruz la Real.

This hands-on format is designed to reinforce key leadership capabilities and foster both personal and professional growth. (Included in the program fee.)

Programme Audience

The IE Leadership & Foresight Hub is designed for top-level executives from leading companies. People whose curiosity, passion, and desire for intellectual debate makes them keen to explore alternative futures guided not only by experts, but also by the perspectives of tomorrow's leaders, who are currently completing their degree at IE University.

This experience is designed for leaders with thirst for deeper understanding of the driving forces of our economies and politics; with a hunger for original ideas, with a need to challenge the status -quo, and a desire to be challenged.

The monthly program sessions based on different topics related to our future with a focus on technology, sustainability, geopolitics as well as the intersection of the three. We have anchored the discussions in 2040 to visualize the possible changes. Participants are interested in anticipating the future in order to shape it; it is much more than a pure intellectual exercise. Note that it is a similar time span as we have experienced since 2008.

We have set our sights on 2040 in order to visualize potential changes. Participants are interested in anticipating the future in order to shape it; it is not a purely intellectual exercise. Using what we have learned from the past 15 years, we look to the future, well-prepared for the constantly changing business world and ready to tackle the challenges on the horizon.

Developing this new mindset is done not only through thoughtful lectures by global experts, but also using carefully designed approaches. We will debate and challenge our existing beliefs and models in a respectful, supportive atmosphere.
