Programme Objective

GEA is an immersive, high-touch experience that blends foundational knowledge with experiential learning and executive-level reflection. The program is structured to take participants on a two-week journey: the first week focuses on developing individual leadership presence and effectiveness; the second turns to leading at the organizational level.

Expect a dynamic mix of teaching methods:

Interactive lectures from world-class MIT Sloan faculty

Hands-on exercises that build skills through doing

Improvisational leadership workshops that challenge participants to lead on their feet

Small group collaborations on negotiation cases, communications, and leadership dilemmas

Applied finance and systems thinking sessions that build essential vocabulary and frameworks for decision-making

Real-time feedback from faculty and peers to refine your leadership presence

You’ll become familiar with MIT’s 4 Capabilities Leadership Model—a foundational framework for adaptive, innovative leadership—and use it to map your own strengths and opportunities for growth. You’ll engage in managerial communications training that helps you understand how others perceive you, and how to shape that perception strategically. You’ll also explore feedback loops and complexity in systems thinking, build financial fluency for executive decision-making, and sharpen your ability to negotiate across cultures and scenarios.

The course format fosters rich cross-cultural dialogue and personal connection. Participants naturally form a strong community, often bonding over social events like harbor cruises, Red Sox games, or informal dinners. Peers stay in touch well beyond the program via dedicated WhatsApp groups.

Testimonials

"The Global Executive Academy (GEA) was transformational for both me and my career. While it often takes three months to realize the full value of an experience like this, GEA had an immediate impact on me and my organization. Less than a month after completing the course, Im already seeing the benefits. Im excited about what the future holds, thanks to the actions GEA inspired me to take and the lifelong friendships I formed on campus."

Colton H

"The GEA was an exceptional opportunity of learning and connection with peers in other industries to share and analyze our challenges and how to overcome them in a creative way."

Marie L

"The Global Executive Academy (GEA) program exceeded my expectations, equipping me with practical, ready-to-use tools that I can immediately apply in both my professional and personal life. It challenged my assumptions, expanded my perspective and reinforced that the most valuable lessons often come from learning alongside multinational leaders from diverse industries, cultures and backgrounds. My key takeaways from MIT Sloan GEA 2026 program: - Lead with presence and authenticity by developing the unique leadership signature. - Empower people through coaching, distributed leadership, and effective communication. - Navigate complexity using systems thinking, data-driven decisions, and resilience. - Drive innovation by embracing uncertainty, adaptability, and ecosystem collaboration. - Commit to lifelong learning, because great leaders continuously grow while helping others grow. I'm grateful to the MIT Sloan faculty, the program team, and my fellow participants for an inspiring and transformative experience. The relationships, conversations, and lessons from this journey will continue to shape how I lead in the years ahead."

"Leadership is intentional and Congrats! Youre incomplete will stay with me as powerful anchors for how I approach leadership. This was the most international program I have ever experienced, with participants from 14 countries forming a cohort of 30. The diversity of perspectives significantly enriched every discussion and interaction. The MIT staff and faculty ensure that every moment of the program - both inside and outside the classroom - is purposeful and engaging. While some of the concepts may not be entirely new, the way they are delivered challenges you to rethink, rebuild, and reapply your leadership approach. Highly recommended!"

"I design and teach executive education for a living, so I arrived at MIT Sloan's Global Executive Academy with high expectations and a professional's skepticism. The program exceeded both. Across ten intense days in Cambridge, I found the rare combination of research-grade thinking and Monday-morning applicability: Kara Blackburn reframing every difficult conversation as three conversations happening at once; Barbara Wixom demonstrating why data behaves like water, not oil and how to actually monetize it; Kate Isaacs building the case for distributed leadership and the wisdom of the incomplete leader. These were not lectures to admire from a distance; I was applying them with my own clients before the program had even ended. What truly distinguishes the GEA, though, is the room. The cohort is genuinely global senior executives from every continent and industry and the exchange between sessions proved as valuable as the sessions themselves. Add world-class faculty who make themselves remarkably accessible, a thoughtfully sequenced curriculum, and full immersion in the Kendall Square innovation ecosystem, and the experience was complete in every dimension: content, structure, and people. The most honest endorsement I can offer is this: I build leadership programs myself, and I left Cambridge already planning to bring executives from my own formation programs into future GEA cohorts. There is no higher compliment than trusting a program with your own clients. For any senior leader weighing the time and the investment, my answer is simple it is worth it, several times over."

Bruno N

"Learned a lot from this program, and would recommend Executives to also take this program. It will help one to effectively improve Leadership Effectiveness. It gives deeper understanding of how Leadership Presence is a Choice and one must be deliberate on presence. It also helps to understand one's leadership style, being authentic, can apply improvisational leadership, know how to distribute leadership, how to communicate and negotiate strategically, to drive high performing agile organizations effectively. There was strong emphasize on driving innovations and navigate change effectively, and how to have Systems Thinking to solve problems and create value, and how to Design Ways of Work for the Organization. To enhance strategic decision making capabilities, introduction on how capital market works also enriched the program."

"Outstanding."

"My time at the MIT Global Executive Academy (GEA) 2025 was a truly memorable and transformative experience. The program's greatest strength is its global nature, uniting 45 accomplished professionals from across 22 nations. This diversity, combined with the high caliber of my fellow participants, created a rich and dynamic learning environment. The world-class faculty from the MIT Sloan School of Management delivered a curriculum that was both challenging and practical. The course truly embodies MIT's motto, Mens et Manus (Mind and Hand), through its hands-on approach. It provided many useful tools and concepts which I am now successfully applying to lead and manage my own teams. The program's duration also gave us the invaluable opportunity to form deep, lasting relationships with peers from across continents. I highly recommend the GEA to any leader seeking to enhance their skills and expand their global network. It is an exceptional program that delivers on its promise of a world-class executive education."

RAVI PRATAP S

"The faculty was outstanding, delivering engaging and relevant content that I could apply immediately. However, I felt that the session on the first Friday could have been more impactful. Overall, it was a world-class learning experience that broadened my perspective and strengthened my leadership skills"
