Geopolitics Program: Law, Policy and Strategy

Law

About Programme

The international legal and economic order is undergoing profound transformation. Geopolitical competition, shifting trade policies, expanding sanctions and export control regimes, foreign investment restrictions and growing economic security concerns are reshaping the way governments, businesses and institutions operate. In this new environment, law has become more than a framework for compliance—it is a strategic instrument that influences markets, supply chains, investment decisions and international business.

The Geopolitics Program: Law, Policy and Strategy is designed for legal, compliance, regulatory, public policy and government affairs professionals, as well as senior executives, in-house counsel and advisors whose responsibilities are increasingly shaped by geopolitical and geoeconomic developments. Whether advising on international trade, sanctions, export controls, foreign investment, regulatory compliance or cross-border operations, participants will gain the knowledge and strategic perspective needed to navigate an increasingly complex global environment.

This program equips participants with a multidisciplinary understanding of the intersection between law, policy and strategy. By combining international law, international trade, economic security, geoeconomics and corporate strategy with practical analysis and real-world case studies, participants will develop the frameworks to assess geopolitical risk, advise decision-makers with confidence and turn legal and regulatory complexity into strategic advantage.

Programme Content

The Geopolitics Program: Law, Policy and Strategy is structured around three interconnected modules that provide a comprehensive understanding of how geopolitical developments are reshaping the legal, regulatory and business landscape. From the evolving international order to corporate strategy and executive decision-making, participants will develop the knowledge and frameworks needed to anticipate risk, navigate complexity and lead with confidence in an increasingly fragmented world.

Following IE University's hands-on learning methodology, the program combines academic rigor with practical application through real-world case studies, expert-led discussions and interactive learning experiences. Participants will engage with internationally recognized faculty and experienced practitioners while exchanging perspectives with a diverse global cohort, strengthening the strategic, analytical and leadership capabilities required to address today's geopolitical challenges.
