This programme comprises 5 modules - each diving into a different aspect of people skills.
Module 1: Becoming a true coach
Understand the importance of coaching in today’s business environment.
Familiarise yourself with the golden triangle of coaching.
Module 2: Setting goals
Apply goal-setting principles in setting goals for yourself and others
Discover the value of delegation within goal setting
Module 3: Feedback
Apply some basic feedback frameworks in delivering feedback to others
Recognise the value of the 'feedback curve' for planning your intervention
Module 4: Support
Recognise the role of emotions in all aspects of leadership and people skills.
Develop basic approaches for managing different types of emotions.
Module 5: your dream team
Analyse how your own leader behaviours may influence a group’s dynamics.
Assess the strengths and weaknesses of your team, and identify ways to build towards a collaborative, high-performing “dream team.”
Programme design
This online journey brings together learning formats including videos, interviews, exercises, questionnaires and real-life examples. You’ll also have background reading to do and questions to help you reflect on your own experience.
You can start Essentials in People Skills at any time – and study wherever and whenever suits you. It takes around 10 to 12 hours to complete the programme and you can split this time over a maximum of three months.
