About Programme
Master the art and science of behavioural interviewing to identify, assess, and select the right talent with confidence and precision.
Introduction & Objectives It has been estimated that a wrong hire costs 1.5 times that person's annual salary. To a great extent, the use of valid selection tools minimizes such costs. Despite the poor validity, unstructured interviews are still very commonly used in job interviews. A structured approach to interviewing, on the other hand, substantially enhances the predictive validity of the selection process. The Competency-Based Selection tech- nique, with its structured approach, has been found to be the most valid among the existing selection tools. One of the most commonly used techniques among these is Competency Based Interviews. It is, therefore, important that panellists who are part of any selection interviews are trained in Competency-Based Interviewing. Key Learning Objectives By the end of the programme, participants will be able to: Develop structured interview guidelines aligned to competencies Prepare behavioural and situational interview questions Build capability to identify and examine competency evidence Strengthen skills in observing and critiquing interview techniques Gain proficiency in conducting competency-based interviews Apply evidence-based competency evaluation Explore alternate sources of competency data
