About Programme

Artificial Intelligence (AI) and digital health technologies are rapidly transforming clinical care, hospital operations, and public health systems. With the rollout of the Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), India is building a unified digital health ecosystem where Electronic Medical Records (EMR), Hospital Information Systems (HIS), and AI-enabled tools must work seamlessly and securely. Doctors today are expected not only to use these systems but also to guide their safe, ethical, and effective implementation. However, many clinicians have limited exposure to the technical, regulatory, and data-governance foundations required for AI-enabled healthcare delivery. This workshop aims to bridge that gap by equipping doctors with essential knowledge of AI applications, HIS/EMR workflows, interoperability standards, and digital health governance. While clinicians increasingly rely on digital tools, many lack structured exposure to the technical, regulatory, and operational foundations required to lead digital transformation. This workshop addresses this gap by bringing together experts in AI, health informatics, cybersecurity, interoperability, and digital health policy. This workshop extends that vision by integrating AI literacy, data-driven healthcare, and EMR/HIS competency into a single, practice-oriented program.

Programme Content

The workshop aims to equip doctors with the competencies required to lead AI-enabled digital health initiatives. The specific objectives are to: (i) Equip doctors with essential knowledge of AI applications in clinical care, hospital operations, and public health. (ii) Provide a practical understanding of HIS and EMR workflows, including core components and implementation considerations. (iii) Introduce key interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, SNOMED CT, ICD, DICOM) required for seamless digital health data exchange. (iv) Build awareness of cybersecurity, data protection, and safe digital practices in AI-enabled healthcare environments. (v) Explain the legal and ethical frameworks governing digital health and AI, including DPDPA and digital documentation norms. (vi) Strengthen clinicians ability to collaborate with IT and data science teams for effective digital transformation.
